Explorer Scout Section
This is a thriving section and encourages young people, aged 14 - 18 to explore many of the new skills and experiences they had in the scout section.
Activities recently undertaken include:
Climbing
Canoeing
Night Hikes
Hill Walking
Cooking nights
The members are encouraged to consider developing instructor level qualifications in those pursuits they have developed a special interest in

Uniform
The unit continues to use kilts as a principal element of the uniform. A kilt bank operates and explorers can pay £40 to join the group bank (£30 is refundable should they leave the group)
Kilts cannot be guaranteed, so it may fall to parents/explorers to secure the use of a kilt that fits and is appropriate for scouting events
Uniform requirements are fully outlined in this printable list. An indication of where to put badges can be obtained here
