Beaver Scouting has a motto of “fun and friends” and that is just what the section
strives to achieve. There are craft activities, games and other basic scouting activities
to keep them all busy
Because the section is so popular it is sometimes necessary
to operate a waiting list, so “don’t delay ask a leader today !!” about joining.
The section provides and introduction to scouting for those aged 6 until 8, and meets
on a Monday evening in the scout hall. Go to beaver page
Additionally the Beaver Section
will undertake a number of programmed activities at group, area or district level,
these include BEAVER DAY, district football, sleepovers and fun days, see the Beaver
diary page for more detail.

Explorer Scouting is a district section. The recent review of Scouting meant that
Venture Scouting was replaced with Explorer Scouting run by a District team for young
people aged 14 -
A district unit is based within Trinity St Paul’s building of
Cambuslang Parish Church, made up mainly of former 138th Scouts. The unit operates
in partnership with the group, attending all group camps and events.

The cub section meets on Friday evenings between 6.15 pm and 8 pm. The section develops
those aged between 8 and 10 by exposing them to more activity and group work. Cubs
will undertake many joint activities with the Scout section to include the annual
group camp and 24 hour games “night”
The cubs will undertake camping, canoeing, walking,
pioneering, cooking, crafts and many other activities designed to make them learn
more about their environment and to interact as a team. Go to cub page

Network is for those young people aged 18 -
The unit members undertake a range of activities to include climbing, hiking and
comedy night visits etc. -

The senior section in the group, the section aims to provide young people aged 10
½ -
Regular activities include hill walking, canoeing, fencing, archery,
camping, pioneering, swimming, climbing not to mention the games and challenges that
surround a Friday night in the hall.

Running a group of over 100 members takes a strong leadership team. As the saying goes “many hands make light work” and we always need help.
If you have some time and want to help the youth of your community, if you have been a scout or have yet to experience scouting, we have a space for you. Go to Leader Page
